Online registration for the 2018 Southeast Regional Fruit and Vegetable Conference has officially opened! The event will be held in Savannah, Georgia, on Jan. 11–14.

Samantha Kilgore, director of communications for the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association, said the goals of the event are to give fruit and vegetable growers and industry leaders the tools they need to succeed, as well as keeping them informed on issues that affect them, such as technology, food safety and labor regulations.

The event will consist of sessions led by experts in the industry and organized by commodity.

“For example, we’ll have some sessions going on about blueberry growth and harvest from experts across the state, and at the same time, we’ll have somebody talking about general vegetables, like peppers or onions,” Kilgore said.

This event brings growers, researchers and other industry leaders together to discuss and find new ways to improve industry efficiency.

According to Kilgore, average attendance for the event is approximately 3,500. She said about 80 percent of attendees are growers or owners and operators of farms.

In addition to online registration, on-site registration will also be available at the event. Single-day registration is available, as well as registration for the entire duration of the event.

More information is available on the Southeast Regional Fruit and Vegetable Conference website.
