Dry conditions are minimal across southeastern states like Florida, Georgia and Alabama but persist in certain areas of the region, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.
A couple of counties in the southwest part of Georgia, including Early, Seminole and Decatur, are now abnormally dry after several weeks of sufficient moisture.
Abnormally dry conditions are also observed across Alabama, including in the northern part of the state in Colbert, Lauderdale, Limestone, Madison, Franklin and Lawrence counties; in central Alabama in Bibb and Chilton counties; and in the southeastern part of the state in Dale, Henry and Houston counties.
Most of the southeastern region of Florida is abnormally dry, starting in the southern half of Brevard County and stretching southward to Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. The eastern areas of Indian River, Saint Lucie and Martin counties are moderately dry as well. Also, parts of Jackson and Gadsden counties in the Florida Panhandle are abnormally dry.
Multiple counties in the western area of South Carolina are abnormally dry, starting in Greenville, Anderson and Abbeville counties and stretching north to York and Chester counties.
Parts of central and eastern North Carolina are either abnormally dry or moderately dry. The northeastern region of the state is moderately dry, starting in Halifax County and stretching eastward to Currituck and Dare counties.
