Drought Update: North Florida, South Georgia Remains Abnormally Dry

According to Thursday’s release of the U.S. Drought Monitor, abnormally dry conditions continue to persist across South Georgia and North Florida.

As far west as Decatur County, stretching to the coast and as far north as Coffee and Irwin Counties are abnormally dry in Georgia. Counties as far west as Wakulla and Gasden, stretching eastward and as far as south as Levy County are abnormally dry in the north Florida.

A small portion in central Florida, including Polk County, is abnormally dry. South Florida remains abnormally dry, including some counties that are in a moderate drought. These include Collier County, Monroe County and parts of Hendry County, Palm Beach County, Broward County and Miami-Dade County.

All of Alabama has sufficient moisture.
