logo2xThe Agriculture (Ag) Institute of Florida has launched a new website for agricultural communication material. Amber Maloney, the institute’s president, says the new website will provide a variety of news and resources about Florida agriculture.

The Agriculture Institute of Florida got its start back in 1970 and was oriented to agricultural business people. But in 1989, its focus changed to communication-based membership. Since then, the Ag Institute has focused on educating Floridians and changing their perceptions of Florida agriculture.

According to the new website, the organization has sponsored a number of communications and outreach activities, including workshops and seminars, farm tours and media tours (newspaper and magazine editorial board meetings).

“The Ag Institute of Florida represents associations, growers, producers and institutions. We all have the same mission of wanting to communicate the value of Florida agriculture. Our members represent different positions within their companies: marketing communications, public relations and public affairs,” says Maloney. “It is a social organization with a mission behind it.”

The new website can be found at www.aginstitute.org
